Lee County

Fort Myers - Fort Myers is the county seat[3] and commercial center of Lee County, Florida, United States. Its population was 48,208 in the 2000 census. According to 2008 estimates, the population is 68,689. [4]

The city is one of two major cities that make up the Cape Coral-Fort Myers MSA, the other being Cape Coral. As of 2008, the population estimate for the metropolitan area was 623,725. [4]

Established in 1886, Fort Myers is the historical and governmental hub of Lee County. It is the gateway to the Southwest Florida region, which is a major tourist destination in Florida. The winter homes of Thomas Edison (Seminole Lodge) and Henry Ford (The Mangoes), which are both primary tourist attractions in the region, are located on McGregor Boulevard in Fort Myers.

Cape Coral - Cape Coral is a city in Lee County, Florida, United States. With over 400 miles (640 km) of navigable waterways, Cape Coral has more miles of canals than any other city on earth. According to estimates as of April 2008, the city had a population of 165,774,[2] making it the largest city in Southwest Florida. The population estimate for the Cape Coral-Fort Myers metropolitan area was more than 623,725 as of April 2008.[2]

Lehigh Acres - Lehigh Acres is a census-designated place (CDP) in Lee County, Florida, United States. The US Census Bureau estimates the CDP's population at 67,867 as of 2006.[2] The community is an expansive, pre-platted subdivision of approximately 61,000 acres (250 km2).

Lehigh Acres is a part of the Cape Coral-Fort Myers, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area, which had an estimated 2006 population of 571,344.[5]

Collier County

Naples - Naples is a city in Collier County, Florida, USA. As of 1 July 2007, the U.S. Census Bureau estimated the city's population at 21,653.[3] Naples is a principal city of the Naples–Marco Island Metropolitan Statistical Area, which had an estimated total population of 315,839 on 1 July 2007.[6] Despite being the largest city in Collier County, the city of Naples is not its county seat; rather the county seat is located east of the city in unincorporated East Naples.[7]

Golden Gate - Golden Gate is a community and census-designated place (CDP) in Collier County, Florida, United States. The population was 20,951 as recorded in the 2000 census. It is part of the NaplesMarco Island Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Charlotte County

Punta Gorda - Punta Gorda is a city in Charlotte County, Florida, United States. According to the U.S. Census Bureau estimates of 2007, the city had a population of 16,762.[3] It is the county seat of Charlotte County[6] and the only incorporated municipality in the county. Punta Gorda is the principal city of the Punta Gorda, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area and of Sarasota-Bradenton-Punta Gorda Combined Statistical Area, which was first defined by OMB bulletin 07-01, released in December 2006.[7]

Port Charlotte - Port Charlotte is a census-designated place (CDP) in Charlotte County, Florida, United States. The population was 46,451 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Punta Gorda Metropolitan Statistical Area.
